Here in Bangalore

Well, we made it. We arrived in Bangalore... well don't ask me when. It is still a bit fuzzy. Those 20+ hour flights can really mess with your thinking! But I can tell you that we have had almost two days here and we have spent a lot of our time looking at housing possibilities. We have looked at eight different houses/units and think we have chose one. Monday will be the day to start working on getting our residency permits as everything depends on that. Lease a house? Need your permit. Open a bank account? Need your permit. So the permit needs to be gotten.

Today is our day to sort of take it easy a little. We are feeling the effects of jetlag a bit more and right now I would really like to just crawl into bed and sleep. So with that- I will offer you a more complete post at a later time.

Oh yeah- my husband is watching Cricket. My husband the sports hater. What's up with that?!

Great to hear from you Cindy! I hadn't talked to you since the open house, so I didn't realize you didn't get the house you were hoping for. Ratso! Best wishes from rainy and stormy CA.

Well, moving to a new country is a chance to reinvent oneself, as it were... so maybe Bryan the sports-hater will become Bryan the rabid-cricket-fan! Or maybe he's just trying (as I would) to figure out HOW in the HECK that sport is PLAYED!

Glad to hear you're all arrived okay!

Love
Maya

Glad to hear you arrived safely!

Maybe the cricket thing is due to extreme jetlag on Bryan's part?

Been watching anxiously for your arrival, Cindy. Take it easy, take several days to recover from just the basic exhaustion of jetlag (getting accustomed to the new country takes a WHOLE LOT longer). Then make sure you have a GOOD internet connection and STAY IN TOUCH with all of us. You ARE going to be playing Sock Madness 2008, aren't you?

I'm glad to hear you've arrived safely! That jet lag can really take the wind out of your sails so make sure you get enough rest.

Good luck with the house selection. Take care!

Congrats on getting there! I'm so glad you're still in one piece. Get some rest. Everything will get done and work out. But for now, just focus on getting over the monster jet lag. Hugs!

Welcome to India! I hope you will have an eventful stay. And is that permit with you now?

Oh God, not cricket. ;-) I say this only partly tongue in cheek since if he gets into cricket, you won't see him for days at a time when there's a Test Match. On the other hand, this will definitely help him fit in with his Indian coworkers.
